Someone wants to buy a gift from your Chandler shop but does not know which item to choose. A digital gift card could solve that. Your website still needs to answer a few basic questions.
Will a card arrive by email or in the mail? Does it go to the buyer or the recipient? Can the person use it at your counter?
Explain the gift before asking someone to pay for it. Then test the experience from both sides: the person buying and the person receiving.
Describe what the buyer is getting
Call a digital card a digital card. Put the delivery method beside the amount selector and purchase button. A photograph of a wrapped package should not be the only clue about what arrives.
Imagine a Chandler homewares shop offering emailed gift cards. A useful opening could say “Choose an amount for an email gift card to our store.” The page can then explain delivery choices and redemption locations that the shop has actually verified.
Use Shopify's gift card product type. Naming an ordinary product “Gift card” does not make it issue a redeemable code. Shopify creates the card when an order containing a gift card product is fulfilled. Read Shopify's gift card overview.
Before writing “instant delivery,” check how your orders are fulfilled and when the email is sent. Describe your actual process instead of borrowing another store's promise.

Make the amount easy to choose
Shopify's standard gift card products use preset amounts, called denominations. Customers cannot type an arbitrary value into that standard storefront choice. You can replace the default amounts with the options you want to sell. See Shopify's gift card product guidance.
Choose a manageable set that makes sense beside your merchandise. If your shop sells a mix of small accessories and larger pieces, consider what each amount helps someone give. You do not need a dozen nearly identical choices.
Show the currency clearly. Keep the selected amount visible, and confirm that the cart carries the same choice. Check every amount after changing the product or theme.
Our product-size guide uses a similar selection-to-cart check for physical products. Here, the important match is the gift card value the buyer chose.
Explain who receives the email
A buyer may want to forward the gift personally. Another may want your shop to send it directly. Do not make either person guess which route they are choosing.
Shopify supports recipient email, an optional name and message, and an optional send date in compatible themes. The recipient fields must be supported and enabled; their presence is not guaranteed in every theme. Review Shopify's recipient-field guidance.
If you offer a scheduled date, avoid promising an exact delivery hour. Shopify describes a delivery window based on the purchasing customer's time zone. A buyer outside Arizona may have a different local time from your Chandler team.
For direct gifting, review both emails. Shopify distinguishes the recipient's new-gift-card email from the buyer's gift-card receipt. Customized notification templates also need the recipient information fields.
Check the recipient and delivery details.
Check the message, code, and route to use it.
Review the actual messages after a controlled purchase.
Check these messages on a phone. The business name, gift amount, personal message, and route to use the card should be understandable without hunting through a long email.
State where the recipient can use it
“Use it anywhere” is a much bigger promise than “Use it on our online store.” Name the destinations you support, including the relevant shop location if you accept cards in person.
Shopify supports online redemption and in-person use through Shopify POS. Its overview also says cards cannot be redeemed across separate Shopify stores. Shared branding alone does not connect two stores' gift card systems. Check the supported channels and store limitations.
For online purchases, recipients enter the code at checkout. A remaining balance can be used on another order. If the card does not cover the order total, checkout requests an additional payment method. Customers can reach their balance through the link in their gift card email. Read Shopify's redemption guidance.
Put a short explanation near the purchase details and keep the longer help page easy to find. Use your business's approved terms consistently across the product page and messages.
If customers can collect the merchandise they buy with a card, our Chandler pickup guide covers that separate order handoff.
Test a purchase and a later redemption
Arrange a controlled test with whoever manages your store. Use separate buyer and recipient addresses that your team controls. Agree on how test orders and any remaining card value will be handled afterward.
Start from the public navigation on a phone. Choose an amount, enter recipient details if offered, and check the cart. Follow the order through fulfillment and open the actual messages in both inboxes.

Next, follow the recipient's link and try the redemption path. Check a purchase that leaves value on the card and one that needs another payment method. Confirm the resulting balance rather than stopping when the code is accepted.
If you advertise in-person use, include your counter staff in the rehearsal. A correct web page cannot demonstrate that the person at the register knows the process.
Record the page, selected amount, delivery choice, messages received, and observed redemption result. Keep complete gift card codes out of public screenshots and review documents.
Keep help available after the promotion ends
Give customers a clear contact route for delivery and redemption questions. Assign someone to handle those requests, especially when you promote cards ahead of a busy gifting period.
Stopping a promotion and stopping support are different decisions. Shopify says changing, archiving, or deleting a gift card product does not affect cards already issued. See the product-update guidance.
Keep the recipient's instructions available. Repeat the purchase and redemption checks after a theme change, notification edit, or change to where you accept cards. Review promotional links before you reuse an old campaign.
Your Chandler business website should make giving a gift feel straightforward. Our e-commerce service can help connect the product page, checkout, and customer messages. Tell Brandon where your gift card experience needs work.
